JKBOSE Class 12 Physics Notes pdf
There are a total of 10 units in class 12 physics.
The first unit is electrostatics that deals with the charges at rest, electric fields, electric potential and capacitance. Second unit is about current electricity and here you will learn about current, Ohms law, Kirchhoff’s laws, cells and batteries, meter bridge and potentiometer etc. The third unit is about magnetism and in this unit you will learn about the magnetic effects of electric current, Biot Savart law, earths magnetism etc. The fourth unit is about electro magnetic induction and alternating currents,. This unit is about self induction, mutual induction, Faraday’s laws, alternating currents and their properties and transformer. The fifth unit is about electromagnetic waves where a student learns about the concept of displacement current, Maxwell’s equations and properties and uses of EM waves.
The sixth unit is titled Optics, and it is divided into two parts called ray optics and wave optics. In ray optics we will learn about reflection, refraction, TIR, lens formula, mirror formula etc. And, in wave optics we will learn about interference, diffraction etc. The seventh unit is called Dual nature of matter and radiations, where we will talk about how matter and light have both wave as well as the particle nature. The eighth unit is titled Atomic nucleus, and in this unit we will learn about scattering experiments and stimulated emission, nucleus and its properties. The ninth unit is about solids and semiconductor devices, and in this unit, we will learn about band theory, intrinsic and extrinsic semiconductors, semiconductor diodes and transistors.
